CAF Releases 2010 Women Soccer Fixtures

Twenty-four countries will participate in the preliminary rounds of the African Female Championships billed to commence during the first weekend of  March 2010. However, four countries have automatically been pre-qualified for the second round based on their records, by Hussein Mamman in Cairo.

Twenty-four countries will participate in the preliminary rounds of the African Female Championships billed to commence during the first weekend of  March 2010. However, four countries have automatically been pre-qualified for the second round based on their records.

The teams exempted are Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and Tunisia. The preliminaries are the prelude to the finals of the Championship billed to hold in South Africa in October 2010.

The executive committee headed by Issa Hayatou, the CAF president also approved the fixtures for FIFA U-20 Women World Cup African zone preliminaries kicking off on October 23, 24 and 25 2009.

For the Women World Cup seven countries have drawn bye in the first round, they are Botswana, Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria, RD Congo, South Africa, Tunisia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
