Togolese born Manchester City’s striker, Emmanuel Adebayor says his club will appeal the decision recent
by the FA to suspend him from three matches and would not say much on the issue until his club react.
Adebayor in a quick reaction to the verdict on Tuesday assured africansportsdigest.com that he had no premeditated plan to injure his former Arsenal team mate, Robin van Persie.
“Why should I do that? We’re players who will be meeting every time on and off the field. Players do have a little misunderstanding but not planning to injure anybody, for God sake who would do that.
Adebayor was on Tuesday charged by the Football Association with violent and improper conduct over the challenge on van Persie and his provocative goal celebration.
The FA decided to suspend the Togolese striker for three games for his challenge on Van Persie.
Adebayor can expect an additional punishment for his provocative goal celebration. However, both the player and the club can appeal the FA`s verdict.
