Adebayor and Man City Accept FA Verdict

By Joe Caser

Finally after careful consideration and counseling, Togolese striker, Emmanuel Adebayor and his club, Manchester City have agreed with the verdict of the Football Association charge of violent conduct.

Adebayor has agreed that he will contest the decision, with City revealing that despite still having reservations about the incident in question they too will accept any punishment handed out to their player.

“Manchester City announce that both the club and Emmanuel Adebayor have reluctantly accepted the violent conduct charge laid by the Football Association in the wake of the victory over Arsenal,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The player strongly maintains that he did not intend to act in a violent manner.

“He apologised on the day to Robin van Persie personally and to the wider public for the outcome of the challenge.

“We await the findings of the FA’s Disciplinary Panel which is due to meet tomorrow.”
