Suspended Manchester City striker, Emmanuel Adebayor says he is not happy missing Sunday’s derby against Man United, a match he was looking forward to with glee.
On Thursday, the Football Association finally nailed the former Arsenal player with a three match ban since neither the club nor Adebayor appeal as expected after the guilty verdict was pronounced by the FA.
In their ruling the FA said the ban would take immediate effect which means the Togolese lead scorer will be out of this weekend premiership game.
“Ordinarily, I would not want to miss the game against Man U, but as it is there is nothing I can do. I just have to use the period to work on improving my game and pray for the team in the matches I’ll not play,” said Adebayor.
“It’s tough call to handle. I have my expectation and target in the League as it is there is nothing anyone can do.”
Adebayor however argued that he did stamp on the face of Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie deliberately: “It was a mistake on the field, that’s my stand. But a verdict has been given and I’ll not disobey the rule.”
