In spite of Spain’s intimidating 8-0 whipping of Tahir, Nigeria are hoping to cause upset in their group when they meet the Group leaders on Monday.
The Flying Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia told africansportsdigest.com that they are facing the new challenge with hope of winning.
“I know many of our fans were disappointed, but we are focus. I don’t want to talk about what happened in that match. Things went wrong. In the second half we played well no goals. Let’s face Monday’s game. We’re not afraid of Spain,’ Siasia says.
“The main plan is to win on Monday and move on. The players know this and are ready. They were shocked after the defeat, that’s over; they’re very motivated for Monday against Spain.”
Edet Ibok, a Nigerian player supported his coach saying that they all want to send Spain home humiliated.
“It’s a tough call, but we are on top of it. We know what is at stake and we have to win to stay in the championship. We’ve discussed this extensively and all of us are in accord on what to do in the match,” he adds
