Costa Rican coach, Juan Samuels will not drop his goalkeeper, Mauricio Vargas despite conceding four goals against Turkey in their second group game match in Enugu.

Samuels in an interview with africansportsdigest.com said that the goalkeeper should be single out for blamed because football is a collective game.

“I am confidence that we can win tomorrow’s match against Burkina Faso and moved on in the competition in spite of having only one points after two games,” Samuels said.

“I can’t change my keeper against Burkina Faso because the keeper and the field players made the mistakes. The goalkeeper should not be blamed alone. He’s doing a great job for the team and should be encouraged by all my staff.

“It’s important he feels the support of everyone and other members of my staff. He needs all the support and that I’ll give him and other members of the team. They’ve tried their best and mistakes are part of the game.”
