Obuh : Honduras Match Remains Our Toughest Game

Nigeria’s coach, John Obuh says he never told Nigerians that he will not present a good team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, Nigeria 2009 but only wanted the World to know that he would give his best despite the circumstances that led to their taking over the team midway into the preparation for the championship.

There is no sacrifice that will be too much to your country, this is why John Obuh, The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria Coach has tipped their firt round match against Honduras in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup as his toughest outing so far in the competition.

“I am not mincing words. I regard the Honduras match as the toughest. We scored only a goal in the match to win,” he told africansportsdigest.com in a chat.

It was the match Eaglets talisman, Stanley Okoro was booked for ungentlemanly conduct which accounted for their single yellow card record since the commencement of the championship that Nigeria are in top contention for the fair play award.

“It was a very difficult game that could have gone either way. You can see the late goal we score, which was our only goal. Anything could have happened in that match, they were very strong opponents. It was a big relief that day leaving the pitch victorious.”
