Abuja Party Excite Nigerian Internationals

Nigeria’s Super Eagles players have comend4ed the Nigerian Football Federation for hosting the team after their qualification for the 2010 World Cup before their departure Wednesday to Durban preparatory for the Nations Cup next month in Angola.

Moscow based Osase Odemwingie told africansportsdigest.com in Abuja that the Federation has showed that they appreciate the players’ commitment and patriotic spirit which saw them through to the World Cup.

“Our qualification for the World Cup was out of share commitment and hard work, at a time no person had faith in our ability to secure the ticket, but we surmounted all opposition to make history, which was thrilling.” Odemwingie enthused

“ I  came home early like others because of our patriotic zeal to honour this even holding tomorrow(Monday). I learnt the Vice President of Nigeria, who is acting for the president will be there to accord us his own honour. The NFF have made this a big party for us.”

Eagles’ number one goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama informed our reporter in Israel that although he will not be in Nigeria for the reception, he equally appreciates the NFF for deeming it visit to host the team.

“This is a motivational party, which will further boost our resolve to make our country proud both at the Nations Cup and later at the World Cup. We like it.”

Everton forward, Yakubu Aiyegbeni said that it is exciting to be a Nigerian: “This is the time you feel happy going back home to be welcomed with medals. It’s a good idea. I want to be a part of it. My family is equally happy about it.”
