The executive committee meeting of CAF is set to start about now in Luanda with the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Isa Hayatou announcing that this is an important meeting of the committee ahead of the opening Ceremony of the 27th CAN Championship that kick off in Luanda On Sunday.
The President and his delegation arrived in Luanda on Wednesday and is due to chair the Executive committee meeting Friday evening after chairing the CAN Organising committee in the morning.
Some of the important issues to be considered first in the meeting will be final preparations of the CAN Championship that kick off in Luanda on Sunday and proposals for the revision of some of the articles in the statutes and regulations of CAF.
The meeting will also discuss the 2009 Awards Ceremony that will be held in Dakar, Senegal on the 25th February 2010.
The CAN Organising committee meeting was held at 10 am on Friday where they reviewed the incidents that took occurred during the qualifying matches on day five and six and make appropriate recommendation to the executive committee.
The meeting also assessed the progress being made by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea to host the 2012 CAN.
