Enyeama Wants Eagles In the Final

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama says Nigeria will be ready for Ghana on match day in spite of lack of confidence on his team by majority of the fans.

In an exclusive interview with africansportsdigest.com, the Israel based goalkeeper argued that football is all about winning adding that Eagles have learnt their lessons and now know how to counter any opponents.

“I’ve said that playing Zambia was a difficult game because the young players were going all out to prove a point. I also know that we had to face certain opposition when you’re playing such a game, but ones ability to soak the challenge and be up and doing was what gave us the edge.”

He continued: “We’ve come to a stage where we have to improve on our game to succeed. This is not the point to play second fiddle, we hope to get pass Ghana and qualify for the finals”

Enyeama led the Eagles to beat Zambia on penalty shootouts 5-4, he stopped one of the penalties and scored one to give his team victory. He was named man of the match.

“I felt delighted achieving all those things in that match. A player is proud of such achievement, but the most difficult part was keeping a clean slate during the game proper, because there were many close shaves that kept you on your toes throughout the match.

“I want to take Nigeria to the final, I really want to achieve this considering how we were booted out in Ghana by the Black Stars,” Enyeama said.
