Algeria Seek Medals on Nigeria’s Blood

Algerian Coach, Rabah Saadane who said he has learnt a great lesson from their Semi-final match against Egypt says they are focusing on beating Nigeria.

He added that Nigeria have been wounded like the Algeria hence the third place match could turn out to be better than the final.

“I don’t think it will be an easy match as people would expect. Two great teams with wounds on their minds are meeting in what could have been a final if the semi-finals results were reversed.

“But we learnt great lessons from today’s defeat (against Egypt). We now have to get third place against Nigeria but overall I am happy with the team’s performance over the last six games that we have played and we think this team has a potential and a great future ahead.”

The Nigerian coach, Shuaibu Amodu is equally looking for a medal to take home and told africansportsdigest.com that he will not underrate the Algerian team in spite of their red cards which will ruled out some of their best players from Saturday’s match.

“The new boy the coach will introduce will be hungry for glory. They’re aware of what happened to the team during the Semi-finals’ match. Nigeria are eager to go home with at least the bronze medals. Going back empty handed is not good enough for us.” Amodu said.

Considering the game plan of both teams Senegalese referee, Diatta Badara , who has been selected to handle the third placed match must be prepared for a highly contested game though it may be devoid of ill-mannered showing. He will assisted by Ogbamariam Anghessom (Eritrea), Chichenga Kenneth (Zambia) and fourth official Djaoupe Kokou (Togo)
