Young Africans Set Champions League Tone

When the CAF Orange Champions League first leg kicks off  this weekend Young Africans of Tanzania will be positioning itself to beat FC Lupopo  in Dar es Salaam. On his team’s preparation for the crucial Sunday’s continental tie, Young Africans’ secretary general Lawrence Mwalusako told the Tanzania media late last week that their team will conquer their opponents to put one foot in the next round.

“We’ve trained well and are still training to our full potential just to make sure that we win our first match to be in a commanding position ahead of the away game. We’re determined to get through,” Mwalusako said.
“At the international tournaments you need a bit more concentration than in the league because you don’t get the chance to make up for a mistake in knock-out games. We don’t want to make mistakes this time.”

The club’s chairman, Iman Madega, also insisted that the Tanzania league champions can beat Lupopo and build on their first-leg lead to overcome their opponents when they meet in Congo in two weeks time.
