After their triumph over Petrolese of Angola on Sunday, Enyimba International Coach Okey Emordi says the Peoples Elephant have finally bounced back and are looking forward to the African Champions League trophy.
Emordi told africansportsdigest.com at Aba Stadium in Eastern Nigeria that going into the match two goals down having lost the first leg in Angola 2-0 was very difficult for the team.
“But we were determined to make a difference in this game. We knew they’ll be here to protect their goals by defending and decided to turn on our attack full blast on them, which paid off. It was a gamble also that would have been negative if we were not on top of it,” Emordi explained.
The manager went on to thank the players for putting up a great showing during the match and displaying commitment that saw them through.
“There was tactical disciplined in our game today (Sunday). Everyone knew what was at stake and worked assiduously hard to ensure that victory was ours. We are going back to prepare for the next round games. I am really happy.”
